Empowering communities through self-governance
The institution of the commons provides a proven way to manage shared resources and promote participatory governance. It is based on a shared community ethos, and its design incorporates bottom-up participation, transparency, autonomy, and individual accountability.
By embodying these qualities, the commons succeeds in its mission to catalyze the regeneration of its shared resource but also to maintain a healthy community that is collectively committed to that regeneration and actively participating in it.
The commons design moves us one step further away from extractive capitalist models and one step closer to planetary health.

- Published research in collaboration with BlockScience on Augmented Bonding Curve and Conviction Voting.
- First use of the tool Praise for token distribution as reward for labor and expertise within the token engineering community.
- Founding of Token Engineering Commons (TEC) by the token engineering community and Commons Stack.
- Established Trusted Seed as a legal entity in Switzerland.
- First implementation of Conviction Voting, used to rank Gitcoin grants to receive additional funds from Panvala.
- Launch of Commons Simulator, an edutainment tool.
- Instantiated the Economics Co-Design methodology.
- Applied Ostrom’s principles to DAO governance.
- TEC launched as the first CommonsDAO, with a $1.5 million “hatch” (fundraise) and ABC launch.
